The Wakefield Archers

Welcome to The Wakefield Archers. A target archery club based in Wakefield West Yorkshire

Welcome to our new website. Here you will find everything you need to know about shooting at our club . You will find links to the latest news below or alternatively use the above menu to find further information about our club.
If you have come to this website looking to take up the sport then you will find all the information you need regarding our beginner courses in the " INFORMATION" section of this website. Please read it before you enquire about availability and elegability, particularly if you are enquiring for your child.

We welcome archers of all abilities to shoot as a visitor ( for a small fee) but please be aware that indoor shooting nights are often full so please enquire beforehand. Please bring your current G.N.A.S card or proof of affiliation to a recognised national body. If you have completed a beginners course elsewhere and wish to join the club as a member then one of our coaches will take you through a short assessment and once you have paid your membership fee you can shoot.

If you want to just come down and see what it is all about then you are more than welcome. We meet in the sports hall at Q.E.G.S .on a Tuesday and Thursday evening between 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm (through the winter). Through the summer we shoot at Slazengers SSC at Horbury (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 6:30 -8:30 pm). All year round we shoot at Walton Sports and Social Club on Saturday mornings from 8:30am.

This website is constantly being developed so please visit it at regular intervals to find out more . We are in the process of developing a "Members Area" dedicated to information aimed specifically at members. This will include a "Classified" section so that members can sell / exchange equipment that they no longer require. Who knows you may even pick up a bargain. I have also added a "Coaching" section here and used it to distribute some of the information we received on the Personal Performance Course three of us recently attended. Guaranteed to mess up your scores for a month or so but worthwhile in the end so I am told.

Good Shooting.
