Longbow competition
After many years associated with Pontefract Castle it is with great regret that we have had to change the venue for our annual Longbow Competition.
In order to enhance the visitor experience at the castle the Judges felt that the recent improvements carried out at the castle had unfortunately compromised the safety of the event. As a result we were faced with no alternative but to find a new venue.
Unfortunately we have been unable to secure the site at New College, Pontefract so we have decided to hold the competition at our normal shooting ground at Horbury, Wakefield.
Whilst the new venue may not have the historic significance as Pontefract Castle, I do hope that you will continue to support the event and have a thoroughly enjoyable shoot.
